We keep this simple because we collect very little. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.
1. Information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us:
- When you contact us or request a visit — your name, and an email address or phone number, plus anything you write in the message.
- When you donate — the payment happens entirely inside your own bank or UPI app (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, or a bank transfer). We never see, receive or store your card, bank account, UPI PIN or password. We may receive your name and the amount from the payment record, and any details you give us if you ask for a receipt.
- Automatically — like most websites, basic technical data (such as your approximate region and the pages you view) may be collected through analytics or advertising tools to help us understand what is working. See “Cookies & analytics” below.
2. How we use your information
- To reply to your message or arrange your visit.
- To send you a donation receipt or an update, if you ask for one.
- To understand how people find and use the site, so we can improve it and reach more people who want to help the dogs.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone, ever.
3. Cookies & analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics and advertising measurement tools (such as Google Analytics and the Meta pixel) to measure how our pages and any donation campaigns perform. These may set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; the site will still work. We do not use cookies to collect sensitive personal data.
4. Who we share it with
Only where necessary to run the sanctuary:
- Communication tools — when you message us, your message is delivered through email or WhatsApp.
- Payment systems — donations are processed by your chosen UPI app or bank, and (in future) a payment gateway, under their own terms and privacy policies.
- When required by law — if we are legally obliged to disclose information to a competent authority.
5. How we protect it
This site is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection. We keep the little information we hold only for as long as we need it to help you or to meet our legal and accounting obligations, and then we delete it.
6. Your choices & rights
You can ask us to show you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Just write to us using the details below and we will act on your request.
7. Children
This site is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will always reflect the current version.
